Late Bottled Vintage Port
37.5cl- HALF BOTTLE
Was £21.95 Now only £13.49
91 Points - Wine Advocate

A 2017 Late Bottled Vintage Port Wine from Quevedo.
Sourced from the winery's quintas at Vale d’Agodinho and Trovisca, this is dry, light and lifted. It's not the richest and deepest of the LBVs I've seen from this producer, but its focus and the length on the finish are superb. Very expressive as well, this shows brilliantly just now. It can also age and develop if you want to hold it.

Tasting notes
Opaque black at the centre with a narrow purple rim. Uncompromisingly Taylor’s in style, elegant and precise. The nose is threaded with very fine, linear fruit, heady and complex but restrained by a graphite minerality. Quinta da Vargellas has imprinted its signature fragrance of violets, which hangs like a scented veil over the wine, and there are discreet terroir notes of citrus, wild herbs and gumcistus. The nose is still reserved and discreet but there is impressive depth and background, as well as hints of complexities still to emerge with time.

Massolino Serralunga, Barolo, Piedmont
93 Points James Suckling
93 Points- Wine Advocate

Barolo Classico Massolino represents the synthesis of the different characteristics offered by each terroir. We have always preferred traditional ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels, to maintain a purer and more forthright identity. A broad and variable range of aromas, with a surprising expressive evolution over time.

Appearance:
Garnet red colour with variable intensity depending on the vintage.

Bouquet:
The grapes come from different vineyards and this gives them a broad and variable spectrum of perfumes, ranging from tempting spicy notes to those of a sweeter, floral and fruity nature.

Domaine de Chevalier, 2015

Graves Pessac-Leogan, Bordeaux
***95 Points- Robert Parker's- Wine Advocate***
***17/20 Points- JancisRobinson.com***

Olivier Bernard has transformed Domaine de Chevalier during his tenure. In the early days, an ambitious re-planting program was undertaken, which took many years before the fruits of his labours could be enjoyed. Now the estate is in superb health and it seems that Olivier can turn out a great red and white, vintage after vintage. The 2015 is gorgeous; a profound yet reserved Domaine de Chevalier that reveals itself slowly. Initially it is understated with notes of smoky cassis. As it opens up, it displays damsons and raspberry liqueur fruit. It is subtle wine of charm and sophistication with a latent power that will help it to age gracefully for decades.

Taylor’s wine maker, David Guimaraens, commented; "The condition of the crop was exceptionally healthy throughout the 2015 harvest, although the dry year meant that yields were relatively low.

Dow's, 2011

Vintage Port, Douro

This 2011 Vintage Port Wine from Dow's is "very inky in hue, this is very tight indeed, with classic Dow dryness/austerity – firm tannins and a yet to be mined concentrated seam of minerals, black currant, berry and cherry. At this very early stage of its life, it means you are more conscious of the spirit, but this positively unshowy Port plainly has a long life ahead given its deep reserves of fruit and imposing structure. Impressively hewn."Sarah Ahmed, www.thewinedetective.co.uk

Taylor's Port, 2009

Vintage Port, Douro

95 Points - Wine Journal

Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.

Chateau Leoville Barton, 2008

The 2008 Leoville Barton is deep pure purple with a slight edge of blue. Again (like Langoa) a well-rounded richness to the nose, ripe black fruit. Black mineral expression, and some very dry tannic structure, all with excellent depth of flavour. A real pleasure.

***90 Points- Silver Medal- IWSC 2023***

Aged in wood casks until they are completely mature, Tawny ports are a golden colour with multi-dimensional layers of aromas and flavours. The domination of Vintage Ports in past years is now challenged by the advantages of the tawnies, especially vintage colheita tawnies for restaurants and retail consumers. Where vintage ports have immediate air shock upon opening the bottle wherein they were aged and have a shelf life of only a few hours to a week; tawny ports have had air working on them through the cask during all the years of ageing, giving them a open-life of a month or longer.
