Description
Matured in a cool cathedral-style bodega, hallmark of Andalucian maturation process, the 1994 Gran Reserva PX from Toro Albala is a stunning example of Pedro Ximénez wine, showcasing the concentration, complexity, and aging potential that this style is known for.
Tasting Notes
Deep, dense mahogany color with hints of amber at the rim. It has aromas of dried figs, raisins, dates, caramelized sugar, toffee, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and earthiness. The palate is full-bodied and unctuous, with concentrated dried fruit flavors, caramel, molasses, and brown sugar. The wine has a balancing acidity to prevent cloying. The long, lingering finish leaves a lasting impression of richness and depth.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve your PX wine slightly chilled between 12-14º C. A dessert in itself it is the perfect way to finish a meal but also an ideal pairing with dark chocolate and light blue cheeses.
