Prats and Symington, 2013

Chryseia

The 2011 Chryseia was considered the third best wine of the world by North-American magazine Wine Spectator (2014). The 2013 vintage is also in the outstanding category displaying a dark, intense, opaque garnet. Very exotic on the nose, of characteristic aromas of dark fruits, yet some raspberries, light spicy notes. Despite the intense tannins, this wine is extremely elegant, round, well-structured and has a never-ending finish. It will last a very long time…

This outstanding wine is the ultimate product of the Prats & Symington partnership, between the Symington family and French oenologist Bruno Prats.

Ferreira, 2011

Vintage Port SINGLE bottle 75cl (Comes in original box as illustrated)

*** 90 Points Robert PArker ***

This wine is the deepest crimson, almost opaque in colour. It displays great intensity, complexity and harmony on the nose. A prevalence of floral notes, especially rock-rose and heather as well as warm cedar hints from its time in oak. Spices such as pepper, with an undertone of curry, as well as some mineral notes are also in evidence. On the palate it has a lively attack, with balanced acidity, and robust and distinct tannins. Red fruits and spices, especially pepper, come to the fore during tasting.

Quinta do Noval Nacional, 2011

Vintage Port

Reviews: "Fantastic: 'The legend lives'... "Could be better than the perfect 1994 and equal to the 1963.”
James Suckling gave the maximum score of 100/100 to the recent Quinta do Noval Vintage Nacional 2011!

“This wine is a mysterious phenomenon, a magical wine produced in extremely limited quantities and only in a few years each decade. It is the expression of a terroir and confirms something that is for me a deeply held belief. The Nacional is great because of the grapes and where they come from, not because of anything particular that we do. It has a unique personality, an extraordinary intensity and, even after many years of ageing, retains an astonishing youthfulness.

Casalferro, 2010

Ricasoli, Toscana IGT

Intense and bright ruby red. Intense balsamic and spicy hints to the nose. Cocoa, pepper and liquorice and cinnamon blend with the fragrance of ripe red fruit.Massive and pleasant in the mouth, the red fruit mixes once again with the spices and the sweet and elegant tannins of the wood used for the ageing.

Today the New Casalferro is the result of seventeen years of experimentation: a straight Merlot obtained from a single plot of land: the homonymous Casalferro vineyard; located along the road that leads from Brolio Castle to the village of Monti in Chianti (in the province of Siena). A Merlot that speaks the language of Brolio: a glass of Casalferro wine will suffice to understand that we are in the land of the Ricasoli Barons.

Caves Messias Classico Garrafeira, 2010

Bairrada D.O.C.

*91 Points*

A fantastic showing from Caves Messias encompassing the best characteristics the Bairrada region has to offer.

The 2010 Messias Bairrada Classico has a deep ruby colour with clear and pronounced aromas of dark forest fruits, black cherries, vanilla and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's a full bodied wine with enough acidity and plenty of nicely integrated tannins offering abundant rich black forest fruit such as stewed blackberry, black cherry and blueberry with lovely undertones of vanilla, white pepper and dark chocolate. Chateau Brane Cantenac, 2010

Margaux 3rd Growth Classification

"With a gorgeously evolved, extremely complex bouquet of forest floor, spring flowers, lead pencil shavings and red and black currants, this full-bodied, dense, ruby/plum/purple-colored wine hits the palate with an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and a very layered, profoundly concentrated style that is, at the same time, both powerful and sublime. This gorgeous wine from proprietor Andre Lurton will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and evolve for 25-30 years. 95+ pts." (eRobertParker.com, Feb 2013).

Beautifully expressed Cabernet fruit, pure Margaux elegance that combines intensity and finesse, long flavours, excellent balance that shows up Brane's specific style.

Chateau Calon Segur, 2010

3ème Cru Classé Saint Estèphe

*** 94 + points - Robert Parker ***

Reviews:
"The 2010 is performing well,. With Cabernet Sauvignon dominating the blend, the wine has a dense plum/purple color along with notes of underbrush, black currants, plum, licorice, smoky charcuterie and some roasted herbs in the background. Full-bodied, moderately tannic and set for an extremely long life, this will not be a wine to please those looking for immediate gratification. Rather, I would suspect this wine will close down even further in bottle and, despite its full-bodied, powerful, massive size, it will need at least a decade of cellaring before it is accessible.

Chateau Lafon Rochet, 2010

St Estephe 4th Growth Classification

*** 90 Points - Robert Parker

Chateau Lafon-Rochet has smooth tannins, beautiful balance, a silky texture, and is altogether sensual. Just as grandma's old apple tree at the bottom of the garden has tastier apples, grapes from old vines product wine with more flavor and concentration. Although they produce less, their fruit reflects the terroir more faithfully. Lafron-Rochet is both simple and complex, with black fruit aromas in most vintages. It exemplifies a smoothness and expression unique to Saint-Estephe, as well as a certain warmth and elegant roundness due to the Merlot grape.

Chianti Classico, 2010

Ricasoli Castello di Brolio

Bright ruby red color. Rich, elegant, tender and spicy on entry then the red fruit notes gain and invade the nose. Thanks to a long and accurate selection at the winery, the wine and wood are fully integrated to express its distinctive character. Red fruit and pepper on the palate that reveals the mineral style of Chianti Classico.

93 Points Robert Parker
The Wine Advocate - "Barone Ricasoli's flagship wine, the 2010 Chianti Classico Castello di Brolio flaunts its pedigree and beauty right from the start. The bouquet is balanced and intense with a charming mixture of bright berry fruit and oak-driven tones of spice and tobacco.

Chianti Classico, 2010

Ricasoli Colledila

The Barone Ricasoli Colledila Chianti Classico 2010 is a beautiful wine that is drinking extremely well now, this bottle could be stored in order for it to continue to develop until 2022.

The 2010 Colledila is ruby red in colour and has floral aromas as well as the aromas of dark cherries and mushrooms. This is a full bodied wine with sweet tannins, the finish of ripe fruit is dominant yet it remains clean and elegant, the 2010 Colledila Chianti Classico is very well structured. The Colledila is what has to be considered by most a more expensive Chianti and has a bottle price of $40-$50, with this in mind, it also must be stated that there is considerable value here, to drink now or hold for a few more years.

Clos Manou, 2010

Medoc

The 2010 Clos Manou is Dark red, impressively big, yet structured, energetic but not overly acidic and rather sophisticated for a Medoc A. C. Nose of milk chocolate, sour cherry, smoke, and a bit of herbs. Steely feel on the tip of the tongue that morphs into harsh yet fine-grained astringency. On mid-palate, there's enough sweetness and black fruit, lots of cassis, spice, blackberries, tobacco and earth. The acidity makes for a mouth-watering finish that lingers for quite a while.
Please decant for 2-3 hours upon opening.

Domaine de Chevalier, 2010

Graves Pessac-Leogan

This deeply coloured, concentrated and firmly structured wine will just begin to stretch its legs by 2017, so try to resist opening your bottles until this time. Then let the wine breathe in a decanter for a couple of hours before serving. Enjoy this wine with simple red meat dishes or mature cheeses when young, and with game and sauced meats when it is more mature.

The world-renowned American wine writer Robert Parker describes Domaine de Chevalier as "a true connoisseur's wine" and adds "the production is tiny and the wines are amongst the most highly sought-after of Pessac-Léognan". He writes of this vintage's offering: "Consultant Stephane Derenoncourt along with owner Olivier Bernard have done a fabulous job over recent years .

Chateau Rieussec, 2009

Sauternes 1er Cru Classe

***97 Points by Neil Martin -eRobertParker.com #205 Feb 2013***

The team at Chateau Rieussec have conjured a stellar wine in 2009. There is a little reduction at first that fortunately blows away, revealing thickly layered scents of honey, Danish pastry and quince that appear to gain vigor with every passing sip. The palate is stunning: very viscous in the mouth with tangy grapefruit, honey and white peach. It is still primal, but the acidity is perfectly judged and there is a life-affirming sense of precision and tension towards the finish. Exceptional. Drink now-2045.

Domaine de Chevalier, 2009

Graves Pessac-Leogan

** 93 Points - Robert Parker **

Reviews: One of the fabulous sleepers of the vintage and a wine for serious Bordeaux afficionados to consider buying, the 2009 Domaine de Chevalier is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot that achieved 13.5% natural alcohol. Surprisingly backward for a 2008, it is medium to full-bodied with moderate tannins, lots of purity and abundant charcoal, black currant and floral notes. The sweetness of the fruit, depth of flavor and textured, lush mouthfeel in this medium to full-bodied, ageworthy 2008 are impressive. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades.

Taylor's Port, 2009

Vintage Port SINGLE 75cl bottle

95 Points - Wine Journal

Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.
