Barolo, 2005

Cantine Prandi, Piedmont
LAST LIBRARY STOCK - BESTSELLER

The 2005 Cantine Prandi Barolo have come from the Prandi cellars where they have laid undisturbed since bottling.

Cantine Prandi was established in the 1920s when grandfather Farinetti Majorino envisioned selling part of the wine produced for family use to the commercial market. In the 1960's his nephew Giovanni came to lend a hand and was instrumental in shaping the winery and its future development. Up to 2009, Giovanni's son Alessandro looked after the beautiful vineyards situated in the long hills surrounding Piemonte. Alas, in recent years due to Alessandro's passing the winery ceased production.

Chateau Guiraud, 2005

Messias, 2005

Colheita Port, Douro

Colheita Ports are created from a single vintage, differentiating them from Tawny Ports, which are a blend of several vintages.

This excellent port from Caves Messias offers maturing notes of dried red fruit, prunes and spice. Smooth with excellent balance. Long and vibrant. (VINTAGES panel, Jan. 2015)

Colheita Port Storage and Serving Advice:
Colheita Port should be stored in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations, and the bottle should remain in an upright position. If stored correctly, Colheita Ports will keep for decades in the bottle. Over time, it is natural that a little sediment will form at the bottom of a bottle of colheita Port wine.

Primitivo, 2005

Cassine di Pietra

Primitivo is a dark-skinned grape known for producing inky, tannic wines, particularly Primitivo di Manduria and its naturally sweet Dolce Naturale variant. A classic Primitivo wine is high in both alcohol and tannins, intensely flavored and deeply colored. A certain bitterness is often found in Primitivo which, combined with its mouth-puckering tannins, means that it needs a few years in either bottle or barrel.
