Description
Barolo is one of the great wines of Italy's northwestern Piedmont region. Barolo is predominantly made from the nebbiolo grape which, when young, may be tannic and austere. Over time the tannins will mellow and integrate into the wine. The Nebbiolo is renowned for its longevity and for those looking for a good wine from the 1963 vintage this would be our recommendation.
The 1963 Ceste Barolo has a pale garnet core, some red cherry fruit on the nose alongside game, leather and forest floor notes. Wine develops fully after half an hour to reveal a hint of fruit alongside oak and tannins. Our notes are that this wine offers a pleasant surprise and outshines the vintage.

Good levels - please note that this is a library release and the bottles are ex chateaux. New labels were applied on release.
