Description

The Gigi Rosso cantina is based in the commune of Castiglione Falletto. Gigi and his two sons, Claudio and Maurizio, produce and also age fine wines from their premium vineyards in Serralunga and Diana d'Alba. The family started making wines in the 1970s and was among the first in the region to market and bottle their own wines rather than selling their grapes on to the big consortiums.

The 1998 has notes of red fruit, dried herbs, stone dust ans slight toast.
Medium bodied palate with mid-level grip and only decent acidity. Graphite, salt liquorice, apple peel, slight cinnamon and stone dust. Some roasted meat character in the aftertaste.
