This beautifully presented wine from the 1972 vintage has a tawny red-brown colour upon opening. The wine has a meaty bouquet at first, tar, leather, underbrush, and hints of faded red fruit emerging later hinting at former glory. On the palate the wine has developed maderia-like qualities with caramel, oak, roasted nuts and some acidity. Short finish.
