Reviews:
"Still garnet in the glass, edges lightening up only somewhat. Medium intense nose of damp soil, ferns, some damp tobacco. Tertiary and vegetal, although not in an entirely dissatisfying way. Livens up with a bit of coaxing: tea leaves, peppermint, menthol, echinacea. Ethereal but with power in the background. Big berry fruit on the palate, fully mature with tannins almost all resolved. Damp leathers. Sweet red cherry fruit surpasses currant and rhubarb. Tingling mouthfeel. A beautiful and special glass. Be patient with it once open, slow but expressive." Cellar tracker review 2016.

" it turned out to be one of the best wines of the Cheval vertical. The first Cheval Blanc to be fermented in temperature-controlled vats, it has wonderful definition on the nose that is much more reserved than the '64. Cedar and tobacco infused black fruit, perhaps foursquare but very focused. The palate is clean and fresh with fine tannins. Correct and conservative, yet very elegant and refined, this is a composed mature Saint Emilion that is drinking beautifully. Tasted February 2014." Neil martin Wine Journal.
