Reviews
Also tasted out of barrel, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Mont Redon is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 8% Mourvedre and a splash of Cinsault. Spending 12 months in equal parts stainless steel and barrels, it offers up a modern profile with plenty of cassis, licorice and hints of vanilla all emerging from the glass. Nicely concentrated, with sweet tannin and solid length on the finish, it has outstanding potential and should have around a decade of longevity.
Presenting a solid lineup of wines, this large estate is located in the northwestern portion of Chateauneuf du Pape and covers over 250 acres. The young Jean Abeille and Didier Fabre now manage the estate.
