Ayala Champagne
ale gold in colour with a fine mousse, Ayala Brut Majeur NV Champagne is aromatic on the nose. On the palate, it is well balanced and shows great finesse and complexity. This is a high-class Champagne and a fantastic addition to our assortment.
The Champagne rested on its lees for more than two and a half years in the dark cellars, and then matured for a further three months after disgorgement.
This fine Champagne is a careful blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Meunier. What do each grape variety contribute to the blend? Pinot Noir gives the wine its structure, richness and a long finish.
2011 Chateau Pavillon de Poyferre
Opened and decanted for 4 hours. Dark, fruit driven nose, blackberry, clean hay, licorice. Palate is full, fleshy and crazy good for 2011. Fairly modern style, this drinks beautifully for the price point and vintage.
2011 Messias Vintage Port
Caves Messias is an historic family owned company that produced high quality port since 1926. Under their care and attention they have become renown for the quality of their colheitas and vintage ports at a competitive price. The grapes coming from their Quinta do Cachao Quinta do Rei Estates.
