1966 Chateau La Croix ,St Julien (Wine Society)

1966 was a very good wine vintage for Bordeaux. At the time the wines were tannic and had high acidity. Over the past four decades, the tannins have faded to make the wines more drinkable. The best quality wines such as Latour and Palmer are still in their prime even now and will remain so for many years to come. Other Bordeaux wines will remain good to drink.

1981 Chateau Haut Batailley,Pauillac 5th Growth Classification

***85 points*** (Excellent) Robert Parker

Reviews: "This is one of my favorite Haut-Batailleys between 1971 and 1981. Silky on the palate and quite perfumed, with a pronounced oaky bouquet, this velvety, round, pleasant wine is quite delicious. It has matured rapidly." Parker, Bordeaux 3rd Edition

Warre's Vintage Port, 1975

Excellent soft texture makes it perfect at this time. Lots of smooth edges, with a colour that is holding up well. This wine is now beginning to reach its full maturity and is likely to be ready for drinking. As it ages further, it will begin to develop gently into a more tawny style port-wine.

Dow's Vintage Port, 1975

This is an extraordinary house that seems to have been particularly successful with its vintage port since 1977. The 1975 is good but not complex. It is fully mature, fruity and soft. Robert Parker, Buyers Guide 1989.

Rating 85/100 (very good)

Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port, 1994

***90 Points***Robert Parker

The opaque ruby/purple-colored, single quinta 1994 vintage port reveals plenty of smoky, jammy black fruits, licorice, and a touch of tar. Slightly sweet, rich, expansive, and full on the palate, with well-integrated alcohol and tannin, this 1994 should be ready to drink early in life, and last for twenty years.

Morgan's Vintage Port, 1985

Dark brown centre, paling at the rim. Nose of boiled sweets. Easy, balanced entry with the tannins still noticeable and with a bit of bite from the spirit. Fruity mid-palate with many layers of complexity. The aftertaste is gentle but evident and starts with cherry juice flavours before the bitter-dryness of slightly unripe hazlenuts.

Adriano Ramos Pinto Vintage Port, 1991

A classic young vintage, the 1991 has a deep, lively red color. It greets the nose with rich, powerful aromas, dominated by fresh fruitiness tinged with a candy sweetness and floral violet scents. In the mouth, the wine has a powerful attack. Flavors are round and subtle, with a vivacious personality. The 1991 vintage port promises to improve gracefully with age.
