A rare chance to purchase an aged Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port with over 30 years of maturation in cask and bottle. These have been stored in the winemakers cellars until we imported them last year. Unfiltered LBVs will throw a 'crust' (aka: sediment) just like a Vintage Port and so needs to be decanted. This Port wine has a mature character with, sweet raisin and spice with ripe black fruits, fig, prune, damson and cinnamon notes. Elegant with great balance, fully mature, gentle and inviting. savour it on its own or with a platter of cheeses.

The 1992 Quevedo Colheita is an outstanding quality and value effort from this family-run estate. Oscar and Claudia Quevedo have produced a light brown port with hints of amber. On the palate there are nuts and a lovely light molasses note with coffe and spices The finish is long and lingering as befits a quality port such as this. Outstanding!

Ryst Dupeyron Reserve Joseph Millesime vintage Armagnac

The 1992 Dupeyron Armagnac is the expression of a single year and has a unique character associated with the year and the cask in which it has been stored. These vintages are bottled at the alcohol level in which they naturally come out of the cask. There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of dry plums, spicy with persistent flavour of rancio and of spices, but round, soft and long in the finish. The tannins are very present, but full-bodied and round.

Marchesi di Barolo, Piedmont

Barbaresco is one of the great wines of Italy's north-western Piedmont region. This aristocratic red has its vineyards situated in the Langhe, on the right-hand side of the Tanaro river and extending from the area north-east of Alba to the communes of Barbaresco, Nieve and Treiso. The dominant variety grown is Nebbiolo, but Dolcetto and Barbera also play a part.
