Quevedo, 1974

Colheita Port
Last Few in Stock

This is a great 1974 Colhieta from this family-run winery. The colour is still very intense, and the aromas are already where you would expect a Colheita of this age expect to be. 1974 is now over 45 years old but this wine is still really nice and very affordable.

This has amazing layers of aromas, nuts, crème brûlée, caramel, dates and apricot. A beautiful port – that you will combine with any food. But please enjoy it on it’s own.

Ryst Dupeyron Armagnac, 1974

Sale

Ryst Dupeyron Reserve Joseph Millesime vintage Armagnac
50cl bottle
Includes gift box
Special Offer | Was £159 | Now £125

The 1974 Dupeyron Armagnac is the expression of a single year and has a unique character associated with the year and the cask in which it has been stored. These vintages are bottled at the alcohol level in which they naturally come out of the cask. There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of dry plums, spicy with persistent flavour of rancio and of spices, but round, soft and long in the finish. The tannins are very present, but full-bodied and round.

The Maison Ryst-Dupeyron was founded by Joseph Dupeyron in 1905.

Don PX 1974, Sweet Wine, Montilla-Moriles.

This 50 year old Pedro Ximenez sweet wine from 1974 makes a wonderul gift for someone celebrating their 50th Birthday or anniversary.
After harvesting the grapes in the month of August, with temperatures up to 45ºC, and after the sun drying process, a must was produced and, after remaining at rest for a year, went into a wooden cask. It was made in the first week of September. After raisining for 9 days and subsequent pressing, a must with a high sugar content was obtained which, after a rest period, was alcoholized before being aged in American oak casks.

“Convento Selección” are wines that have aged for generations in amontillado butts so that the wine and wood could merge with time and result into an unmatchable flavor.
