Rated 97 points from the Wine Spectator (in 1990)… 'Another Port shipper once mistook this extraordinary wine for one 15 years younger. It is very youthful, with caressing sweet fruit flavors. Rated 92 points from the Wine Spectator… 'This is as well-made as a fine Swiss watch. Medium ruby with a garnet rim, with aromas of perfume, flowers and oranges, medium-bodied, with sweet floral, orange and plum flavours, a silky mouth-feel and a sweet finish. Delicious. (Jan-89)

"Reddish-brown in colour, mature in appearance; 50% opaque. Nice on the nose, fresh and with acidic rhubarb tones. Empty entry despite the texture, but some attractive burnt toffee and marmalade on the mid palate. A nice balancing acidity on the palate but this does burn slightly on the aftertaste. The finish is slightly burnt, but with very pleasant mature fruit; a touch short compared to the other ports shown alongside but a large volume and mouthfilling. 91/100." AHB The Port Forum

Vintage Port (good level, label and capsule damaged )

The Taylor 1945 is remarkably dark and well-preserved in colour, this wine’s dark brick-garnet hue suggests a powerful, youthful wine. Complex aromas of flowers, mint, cherry and plum also carry hints of spice cake. On the palate, there’s ample spice, with plenty of power and tannin still evident on the long, long finish. A true wine legend.

We are delighted to exclusively bring you a piece of history. This was one of the earliest surviving vintages made by Quinta da Devesa after it was acquired by the Fortunato family (in 1941). The 1944 is made from grapes harvested in that year - when the world was at war. The casks have been carefully maintained by the family, ageing gracefully until it was bottled in 2022. The the current generation are delighted to be able to share this rare Port with you, its longevity a testament to the previous generations who put so much care and attention into its creation back in 1944. …

This 1944 Port from Kopke, the worlds oldest port house is a true rarity. There are no remaining stocks at Kopke and so these are some of the last bottles for sale.

This port has a bright amber colour with a brown-tawny halo. Elegant nose of dried fruits, well integrated with wood notes. Light and fragrant, with wonderful volume and structure. A wine with great freshness and multi-dimensional flavours. Delicate and persistent finish.

Colheita, or single harvest ports, are aged in the barrel. This is a contrast to vintage ports which are aged in the bottle and only have a short drinking window after opening. …

Established in 1851 by Joseph Seppelt, the winery flourished in the 20th century as part of the Seppelt family's expanding interests in the liquor industry, which grew to include vineyards and wineries across various Australian regions. The Seppelts maintained ownership until 1985, when the winery entered a period of corporate ownership which lasted until 2007. Seppeltsfield is now owned by Warren Randall - a qualified viticulturist and winemaker who worked for the Seppelt family during the 1980s. Randall has led a Seppeltsfield renaissance by developing its vineyard holdings on the 'Western Ridge' of the Barossa Valley and restoring the winery's heritage listed buildings, including the prized 1888 Gravity Cellar. …

Pauillac Grand Cru Classe, Bordeaux

Mature mahogany colour, a little cloudy. Plenty of glycerine, unctuous and creamy port like texture, but without the sweetness, which one could expect given that 1948 wasn’t a very ripe vintage. It kept getting better in the glass.
