Tawny Port (75cl) - In original Taylor's box ***17/20 Points- Jancis Robinson***
Only tiny quantities of this aged tawny port are produced each year, making the wines extremely rare and amongst the most revered in the world.
This Tawny port has been aged in oak casks for an average of 30 years. During their long maturation they become tawny in colour and concentrated in their aromas. This port has very intense and elegant flavours which combine to give a smooth, fine finish.
This 30-year-old tawny from Taylor's own vineyards shows incredible length, a deep, old gold colour with hints of dried fruit and honey offsetting the rich nutty aromas. Lush, silky richness with an elegant, slightly austere quality which is quite distinctive. …

Chateauneuf du Pape, 1994
Domaine Vieux Telegraph Brunier
*** 92 Points - Average Cellar Tracker Score ***
"This is well into its drinking window and had plenty to give. Decanted for 2 hours, it held up well in the glass and had a nose of dried herbs and pepper with a lovely hint of brett, and sweet fruit with a tangy, peppery note on the palate, and a hint of tannin on the finish. Not improving but should be enjoyable for a few more years." Cellar Tracker
Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe has been run by our family, the Brunier family, for six generations since 1891 and is now one of the most renowned estates of the Southern Rhône. The estate’s vineyards are large as there are about 45 hectares of red grapevines planted, 60 years old is the average age. …

Dolcetto d'Alba, 1994
Alessandria
A native black grape variety of Northern Italy grown almost exclusively in the provinces of Cuneo and Alessandria in Piedmont. It is relatively easy to cultivate, although it is susceptible to fungal diseases. It ripens before Barbera and Nebbiolo and is often grown in high north-facing sites which would be unsuitable for Nebbiolo. The finest Dolcetto wines come from grapes grown on soils rich with white marls, especially those found on the right bank of the River Tauro. The wines generally are low in tannins and acidity and are usually fruity and fragrant, often with hints of almonds.

Quinta de la Rosa, 1994
Vintage Port
Quinta de La Rosa is a small estate in the heart of the Port wine-growing region in Alto Douro, near Pinhao, owned and operated by the Bergqvist family.
The Quinta and its vineyards were given to the Bergqvist family as a Christening present by the Feuerheerds, who established the property in 1906.
It remains one of the few Single Quinta where the vineyards start at the bank of the Douro and rise 450 meters to the towering top of the mountain. Taylor's Port, 1994
Vintage Port
Reviews:
100 Points – Wine Spectator
"In a word, superb. It's full-bodied, moderately sweet and incredibly tannic, but there's amazing finesse and refinement to the texture, not to mention fabulous, concentrated aromas of raspberries, violets and other flowers. Perhaps the greatest Taylor ever, it's better than either the '92 or the '70, though it's very like the '70 in structure."
This classically made, opaque purple-coloured wine is crammed with black fruits (blueberries and cassis). It reveals high tannin and a reserved style, but it is enormously constituted with massive body, a formidable mid-palate, and exceptional length. …

This aristocratic red has its vineyards situated in the Langhe, on the right-hand side of the Tanaro river and extending from the area north-east of Alba to the communes of Barbaresco, Nieve and Treiso. The dominant variety grown is Nebbiolo, but Dolcetto and Barbera also play a part. The vines are generally grown on limestone-rich marl soils. similar to the Tortonium soils of the Barolo and La Morra areas in Barolo. Graham's Port, 1991
Vintage Port
*** 94 Points Robert Parker ***
"Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black colour, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port." Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 1995. Drink now to 2030+

Quinta do Vesuvio, 1991

1991 Quinta do Vesuvio. Now Part of Symington family Estates, Quinta do Vesuvio is one of the great Quintas of the Douro. The 1991 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage shows all the hallmarks of a classic Vintage Port. Intense red colour. Packed with aromas of berry fruits such as blackcurrant and graceful floral hints. On the palate very complex fruit flavours, excellent ripe tannins and a sweet and powerful finish.
Wine Makers Notes:
The heavy rains that fell in the early part of 1991 were to stand the vineyards in good stead for the dry spring and very hot summer which ensued. Following the intense August heat, refreshing showers in early September ensured the grapes achieved a very good state of maturity with high sugar levels. …

Chateau d'Yquem, 1990
Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
98 Points - Wine Advocate
A warm to hot vintage ideal for producing outstanding reds does not necessarily make for a great Sauternes vintage, but in the case of 1990 it did. Dry, warm winds in the autumn contributed to the level of concentration that this wine exhibits. Fortunately, a little rain in late September and early October ensured that botrytis flourished well in the end, the final factor necessary to achieve this extraordinary expression.
The 1990 d'Yquem is medium to deep golden colored, the 1990 d'Yquem opens with unabashed opulence, giving expressive notes of dried apricots, toffee, candied walnut, tree bark and sandalwood with nuances of preserved mandarin peel, lemongrass and fallen leaves. …

In undeclared years, its wine is bottled as Malvedos, which can be better than many Vintage Ports. The '90 is no exception; surprisingly rich and concentrated, with intense blackberry and plum-like flavours, fine balance and a tannic, long finish. Excellent quality and value". Montepulciano, 1988
d'Abruzzo, Miglianico
Montepulciano is a red wine grape variety grown widely in central Italy, most notably its eastern Abruzzo, Marche and Molise regions. The variety was named after the Tuscan parish of Montepulciano, but, confusingly, is not used in the famous wines produced there (see Vino Nobile di Montepulciano). Globally appreciated for their soft flavors, strong color and gentle tannins, Montepulciano wines are typically best consumed in their youth and with food. The deep-purple juice of Montepulciano grapes is used in varying proportions to produce wines under roughly 50 of Italy's DOC and DOCG titles. Although sometimes used on its own, …

Taylor's Port, 1988
New
Late Bottled Vintage Port
Late Bottled Vintage port is from a single year. The wine ages 4-6 years in old oak casks (opposed to Vintage that ages 2-3). LBV fills the gap between the rubies and the vintage ports since a Ruby Port should be drunk quite young and a great Vintage Port may need 15 to 20 years to really open up and show its splendour. This led to the idea in the 1960s to age the wine 4 to 6 years in large casks before bottling it, thereby producing a wine with the style of a Vintage Port with its deep colour and concentration of fruit but with a more mature character caused by the longer ageing in wood.

Bekaar Valley, Gaston Hochar
Magnum 1.5L
This rare 1987 Musar is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Carignan from this well-known and highly regarded Lebanese winery.
Chateau Musar is often referred to as the Lafite of the Lebanon. Wine maker Gaston Hochar defied the odds producing a string of great wines during the Lebanon War. Musar has assumed legendary status. Complex, long-lived and endlessly varied, in some vintages it seems more like a Burgundy, in others a Bordeaux, in still others a Hermitage. But it is always brilliantly, uniquely, Lebanese. Ages magnificently but good vintages are usually best at 10-20 years old. …
