Chateau Lynch-Bages, 2005
Pauillac 5me Cru Classe, Bordeaux ** 91 Points- RobertParker.com ** ** 94+ points (Wine Journal) **
The history of Lynch-Bages, situated in the lands of “Batges” at the entrance to Pauillac, is emblematic of the Médoc region.
The Lynch-Bages vineyard (1855 Grand Cru Classé), overlooks the Gironde estuary and stretches over a beautiful gravelly hilltop. Formerly owned by the illustrious Lynch family, of Irish descent, the estate was acquired by the Cazes family in 1939.
The 2005 vintage is one of our greatest vintages of recent decades.
2005 vintage characteristics in a nutshell: • A warm summer, • Near-drought conditions, • Harvest remained largely free of rainfall, and the fruit was brought in by relaxed and happy workers. …

Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 2004
Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classé, Bordeaux
A 2004 vintage bordeaux wine. Prince Charles agreed that the label for Mouton Rothschild 2004 could be illustrated with one of his watercolours, inspired by a French landscape, in celebration of the 1904 Entente Cordiale. He has added in his own handwriting also to the label.

"Deep garnet-black. There’s a wonderful purity of fruit on the nose with aromas of warm blackcurrant, dark cherries, dark chocolate, anise, cinnamon and a waft of cedar. The palate is relatively rich with a medium to full body and a good amount of ripe, mouth-filling fruit. Medium+ level of velvety tannins and medium+ acidity provide nice balance. …

Taylor's Port, 2003
Vintage Port *** 98 Points Robert Parker *** Limited Edition Gift Box The First Port in Space
The 2003 vintage was blessed with warm weather at the end of May, supporting a successful flowering, followed by intense summer heat in early August.
Cooler temperatures arrived in late August, preceding a warm, dry picking season in September, so conditions were almost perfect, and the result is a balanced, complex wine, which has consistently secured high scores from leading wine critics.
‘The Taylor’s 2003 Vintage is one of the most highly acclaimed Port wines of recent decades – a monumental vintage which, to quote celebrated wine authority Robert Parker, will stand proudly shoulder to shoulder with the finest ever crafted by Taylor’s,’ said Bridge. …

Reviews "One of the candidates for wine of the vintage, this beauty has a dense purple color to the rim and a classic, noble nose of graphite intermixed with black currant, spice box, licorice, and red and black fruits. Medium to full-bodied with exceptional precision and definition, this beautifully textured wine stands out as one of the most successful wines of this irregular vintage. A brilliant effort, it should be at its best between 2008 and 2020." PArker Wine Advocate, 2005
"Just a fantastic wine…clean, fresh, bright and bushy tailed on the nose with blackberry, raspberry, cedar-wood and a real palpable sense of terroir. …

Fonseca Port, 1992
Vintage Port
Scoring 97 Parker Points. A magnificent Port
Reviews "Fonseca has scored in both the 1991 and 1992 vintages. The 1992 is a majestic young port that should ultimately rival, perhaps even surpass this house's most recent great efforts (1985, 1977, 1970, 1963). This colossal vintage port reveals a nearly opaque black/purple colour, and an explosive nose of jammy black fruits, liquorice, chocolate, and spices. Extremely full-bodied and unctuously-textured, this multi-layered, enormously-endowed port reveals a finish that lasts for over a minute. It is a magnificent port that will age well for 30-40 years. …

Chateau d'Yquem, 1988
Sauternes 1er Cru Classe Individual Yquem Wooden Case
Yquem is indisputedly the best wine in Sauternes and may well be the finest sweet wine in the world.
*** 99/100 Points - Parker ***
"The 1988 is a backward-styled Yquem, built along the lines of the extraordinary 1975. With a honeyed, smoky, orange/coconut/pineapple-scented nose, this powerful wine possesses full body, layers of highly concentrated, extracted flavors, considerable botrytis, and a sensational finish. Chateau Cos d'Estournel, 1986
St Estephe, 2nd Growth Classification
95 Points - Robert Parker
Reviews: "The 1986 is a highly extracted wine, with a black/ruby color and plenty of toasty, smoky notes in its bouquet that suggest ripe plums and licorice. Evolving at a glacial pace, it exhibits massive, huge, ripe, extremely concentrated flavors with impressive depth and richness. It possesses power, weight, and tannin." Parker, Wine Advocate 1994
"his bottle is similar to the one last year: dense, masculine, wet sand, austere on the nose, as if the wine is slamming a door in your face, but after a time there is a lovely touch of cardamom that develops. The palate suggests that it is worth cellaring, …

Graham's Port, 1985
Vintage Port
***96 Points- RobertParker.com***
torn label- Bin soiled
An exceptional Port scoring 96/100 Parker Points
Graham is a great port house, producing one of the deepest-coloured and sweetest styles of vintage port. Along with Taylor and Fonseca, Graham has probably been the most consistent producer of great port in the post- World War II era. Their vintage ports are truly sublime and sumptuous. Graham is the undisputed star and kingpin of the 1985 vintage ports. It is made in a sweeter style than the other ports, but it is a fabulous wine because of a dazzling level of black-cherry fruit, an enormous structure, and staggering depth, dimension, and length. …

Warre's Vintage Port, 1985
Vintage Port
Stained Label
From the outstanding 1985 Vintage
Reviews: "Lovely orange skins nose, together with nuts and figs. On the palate, it has finesse, elegance and such a sweet kickback. Massively enchanting and, now it is over the magic 20 years, perfection to drink."
Serena Sutcliffe , Cuisine & Wine Asia 2008
Very very dark. Sweet, spicy, liquorice nose. Very broad start to the palate and then dried fruits on the finish. Lots of firm tannins still. Still relatively embryonic. Heat on the finish. Lovely spice on the finish. Not the most stereotypically feminine Warre style of wine. Powerful finish. Almost brawny with some wild fruit and flower flavours on the nose. …

*** 96 Points - Robert Parker ***
Reviews
"The 1983 ranks among the most concentrated wines from this property over the last 25 years, with a staggering display of extract and a mind-boggling amount of glycerin. The vintage commenced early for d'Yquem, beginning on September 29th and finishing on November 18th. The 1983 is enormous, with huge, honeyed, pineapple, coconut, and caramel flavors, massive extract, and an unctuous quality barely framed by acidity and new oak. The wine has changed little since bottling. …

Fonseca Port, 1983
Vintage Port
Fonseca is one of our all-time favourites. Fonseca's 1983-vintage Port is made with a harvest that survived the first snowfall in Pinhão in 20 years and heavy rain through the spring. The result is intense aromas of dark chocolate, prune, fig and hints of rich double cream. Consider pairing its chocolate, fig, prune, raisin and walnut flavours with a cheeseboard or with festive fare over the Christmas period.
An outstanding Port rating 92/100 from an outstanding vintage. Robert Parker writes of this port... "Fonseca is one of the great port lodges, producing the most exotic and most complex port. …

Warre's Vintage Port, 1983
Vintage Port
*** 90 Points - Robert Parker ***
Light red colour with just a touch of purple showing through. Warre has drier firm style, less show more workman-like but with elegance and what the Symingtons call “florals”. The style at 25 years is charming. It’s above all harmonious with a dried fruit and almonds undercurrent mixed with a pinch of cocoa and tea leaf. It has fine acidity and length with just the right bite in the back end.

Taylor Fladgate, 1980
Vintage Port
An outstanding wine scoring 91 points.
Review: "A deep, clear garnet colour. The nose is very backward, quite austere and conservative with notes of cherry and raspberry leaf, a touch of cigar box developing with aeration. It perhaps lacks a little joie-de-vivre, especially when compared to vintage in the 1970s. the palate is attractive though, with notes of raspberry, plum, white pepper, blood orange and a touch of apricot. Very good acidity, perhaps like the -55, this is a Taylor's playing it safe, unwilling to take chances and yet it is lush on the finish with its plum and briary flavours. …

Chateau d'Yquem, 1976
Sauternes, 1st Growth Classification
Half Bottle 37.5cl
Yquem is without doubt, one of the world's finest wine producers, of whom Robert Parker comments: "There is no other wine in the world like it, and there is no other luxury wine that can possibly justify its price as much as Yquem. The remarkable amount of painstaking labor necessary to produce the nectar known as Yquem is almost impossible to comprehend."
"The 1976 Yquem continues to go from strength to strength. Who can ignore the awesome bouquet of spices, honeyed fruit, pineapples, bananas, coconuts, and overripe melons? This full-bodied, viscous, luscious wine has been absolutely delicious since bottling, given its relatively low acidity and precocious personality. …

Graham's Port, 1975
Vintage Port
Bin soiled label
*** 93 Points Aggregated Score***
The 1975 Graham's vintage port is a wine from an historic year for Portugal with a port declaration that came shortly after the 1974 revolution. With a lively bright appearance and deep aromatic nose of candied fruit, damson jam and sweet raisins, this port is a crowd pleaser. Elegant, with a long lingering finish it is nearly perfect now and will only keep improving.
Serving Suggestions:
When mature this port will need to be decanted to remove sediment. Serve at room temperature on its own or with vintage mature blue cheeses such as stilton Cashel Blue, Roquefort, Gorgonzola and Saint Augur Blue. …

A similar russet core, though a little clearer than the ’66. The nose has good definition and focus with an attractive bouquet of cooked meats, mulberry, spice and leather. Light and feminine, although it never really develops the nuance that I was hoping for in the glass. The palate is vigorous, note quite as elegant as the ’66, a little more alcoholic and unrefined, the finish more linear with liquorice, burnt toffee and raisin. Moderate length. Drinking now. Very fine. Neil Martin. …

Reviews: "What a stunning 1963 vintage port this is! The bouquet draws you in, does not drag you in with its alcohol and reveals a fresh, well defined nose with a nutty edge, hints of cigar box and allspice. The palate is beautifully balanced, understated on the entry but building all the time, flashes of eucalyptus leading towards a more extrovert, clove tinged finish that hangs around the palate. Gorgeous Grahams! Tasted May 2009." Neil Martin, Wine Journal
