Reviews "Haut-Brion can reach its peak more quickly than any other first-growth, yet hold at that plateau of full maturity for decades. I first tasted this wine in the mid-seventies and had not had often. Still extremely rich and fresh, with a huge, fragrant, earthy, smoky, tobacco-scented nose, the wine displays a medium to full-bodied palate, with a wonderful sweetness and softness of fruit, as well as a long, velvety finish. It is a classic Haut-Brion that has been at its peak of maturity for nearly 20 years." Robert Parker
"It is a few years since I tasted the 1962 Haut-Brion. It is still very sedate but vigorous on the nose with scents of brambly red fruit, cedar, sandalwood and a touch of gravel with fine definition. The palate has decent fruit intensity on the entry and that it just glides across the mouth without any pretention or harbouring ambitions for greatness, fading with grace towards the finish."
