Reviews: "A splendid bottle served blind and wowing many attendees. A deep garnet core with mature tawny rim. The nose is exquisite and pretty with scents of cherry, redcurrants and anis. Fresh, feminine and utterly beguiling. The palate is medium-bodied, beautifully balanced with crisp acidity. Red berried fruits such as cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry vie for attention. Wonderful poise and focus, this may turn out to be the best Left Bank 1971 I have tried. Tasted October 2006. " Neil Martin, Wine Journal 2007.

From the Chateau Palmer Website. Wet, then warm. In 1971, numerous spring showers hurt the flowers on the vine. More than half died on the ground. Luckily, the sun shone all summer, bringing the grapes to ripeness. A supple and fruity wine with ripe tannins, both subtle and elegant, resulted.
