Description

The 1996 Chateau Talbot has a sumptuous, complex, Provencal-like bouquet of roasted herbs, cherries, licorice, and underbrush emerges from this dark plum/ruby-colored 1996. Tart acidity provides freshness.

Owned by the Cordier family since 1917, the wines of Château Talbot have always enjoyed particular acclaim in the UK. An impressive 107 hectares are under vine here, with around 86% being devoted to Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are strong, sturdy and built to last, with a certain ‘gout de terroir’. As well as the Grand Vin, small amounts of a second wine Connetable de Talbot and a white wine, Caillou Blanc may be found.
