"The 1998 Kopke Vintage Port has a dark core with an amber halo. On the nose there are notes of dark cherry and cinnamon which translate into the taste. Medium bodied and in good balance between the sweetness and acidity - Medium finish feels like it is at peak maturity but will hold for another decade. Kopke Port is the oldest port house. Established in 1638 by Nicolau Kopke and his son Cristiano, who came to Portugal as representatives of the Hanseatic League, the House has been run through the generations by several representatives of the Kopke family, obtaining an excellent reputation for its wines.
