Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes 1er Cru 2009 Domaine Meo Camuzet. Winemaker Notes
There is much finesse and elegance in this wine, very typical of the Vosne-Romanée appellation. Fullness and charm coexist here in a wine which is not as awe-inspiring as the superb 'crus', 'les Brûlées' and 'Cros Parantoux', but which is easy to drink and will quickly seduce you

Critical Acclaim
WS92Wine Spectator
Dark fruit flavors of black currant and blackberry grace this velvety red, whose dusty tannins and acidity keep it focused and lingering. Balanced in a large-scaled way, with a tight finish. Be patient. Best from 2015 through 2030.

An exuberantly spicy nose of sexy blue and black pinot fruit gives way to fresh and energetic medium weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the extract-rich, firm and beautifully balanced finish where a touch of wood surfaces. This is really very pretty and a quintessential Vosne.

The 2009 Vosne-Romanee Les Chaumes shows lovely intensity in its dark fruit, licorice, menthol and sweet spices, all of which come together nicely in the glass. The Chaumes captures the essence of the vintage, especially in its open, textured finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2022.
Jean-Nicolas Meo began harvesting on September 12. He did 17-18 days of cuvaison and did one racking before the wines were prepared for bottling. I was not able to taste a handful of wines that were racked just before my visit, including the Cros Parantoux. Meo is among the growers who believe the 2009s will age well on their depth of fruit.
