Laubade

Armagnac is one of France’s oldest spirits,in production over 150 years before Cognac. It is called eau-de-vie. The Armagnac region lies in the Pays de Gascogne in the southwest of France. The most popular grape varietals used in the production of Armagnac include Ugni Blanc, Bacco, Folle Blanche and Colombard and the region is divided into three appellations; Bas, Haut and Ténarèze.
All Armagnacs are aged in 420ltr oak barrels and sold as single vintages. The grapes used are all harvested from the one particular year, and will only be distilled if the conditions were particularly good. Perfect for big birthdays or as a special drink for the connoisseur as they truly are a fine example of the very best Armagnacs around.

Armagnac in own wooden case

The nosing passes detect notes of orchard fruit and beeswax with subtle traces of red apple, pears and pipe tobacco. The palate entry is loaded with rich, nut-like/nougaty tastes; at midpalate a rush of sweetened tobacco quickly gives way to flavors of dark caramel, honey and oaky vanilla. Finishes with a flurry of caramel, marzipan and nougat notes.
