Senhora da Ribeira (Was £49.95 Now £44.95)
The winery at Senhora da Ribeira has recently been extensively restored and the grapes continue to be trodden by foot in the original stone lagares. Three of the innovative robotic lagares have now been installed at the winery, and Vintage Port is made there in ‘non-declared’ years and released en primeur.
Senhora da Ribeira’s wines are some of the finest in the Douro and they complement those from Bomfim in the composition of Dow’s classic Vintage Ports. The quinta’s high proportion of old vines (45% are over 25 years old) is of critical importance. The old vines are very low-yielding, producing on average less than 1Kg of grapes each, giving intense and concentrated musts which are ideal for classic Vintage Port. …

Six Bottles of Vintage Port in an Oak Gift Box
Six Bottles of Quina do Vesuvio Vintage Port presented in an oak presentation box as pictured.
"The Vesuvio is consistently among my pick of the vintage. The 2010 is an extremely inky dark hue, the nose, coolly mineral. In the mouth, it’s positively wedged with minerals, which lend a cool, firm, tensile quality – an iron fist to the velvet glove of wild blackcurrants and lacy floral notes. There’s a hint of bitumen, liquorice and pepper too. Long and layered, with seams on the outside tousled tannins, this is a gloriously powerful, complex and intense wine. Terrific." Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port
Description: Very deep purple black with violet highlights. As would be expected of a Guimaraens Vintage Port, the first impression on the nose is of a powerful detonation of blackberry, cassis, strawberry and woodland fruit. These exuberant berry aromas are seasoned with notes of coffee, treacle and spice and surrounded by a fragrant balsamic aura of gumcistus and mint. …

VINTAGE PORT (special offer. Was £59.95 now £54.95)
95 Points - Wine Journal
Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.
Score: 95 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, June 2011

This Single Quinta Release from Taylors Flagship estate of Quinta de Vargellas displays the density and concentration typical of the year as well as the elegance and finesse which are the hall mark of the estate.
Tasting note: Inky Black with a purple rim. Compact and stylish nose, with intense aromas of black current and wild berries wrapped around a dark nucleus of liquorice and treacle. This dense backdrop is overlaid with subtle notes of tea, rose petal, tyme and exotic wood with an attractive grapy freshness emerging as the nose develops.
