Guimaraens Single Quinta Port
Deep red, the colour of black cherry juice; 70% opaque. Dusty apples on the nose, with some spicy tobasco. Sweet in the mouth, red jelly beans but little fruit. Graham's Port, 1965
Malvedos Vintage Port
Wonderful on the nose, full of rich spices and sweet cranberries - really very attractive. Gentle golden sultana fruit on the palate, very mature flavour profile but with plenty of dried fruits and delicious complex spices. Fragrant aftertaste with just touch of spirit before a nutty and delicious long finish that turns into icing sugar flavours. Drinking very nicely at the moment. Reviewed by Alex Bridgeman 2015, TPF.

Jerzu, 1965
Cantina Soc Jerzu - Riserva Speciale
There must be a good reason why Cannonau is the most famous Sardinian wine locally and worldwide. The fact that it is a strong flavoured red and the perfect match for the succulent meat dishes deeply ingrained in the Sardinian tradition is certainly a clue. This ruby red wine by the intense bouquet with hints of blackberry and forest berries is the most widespread black berry vine in the Island. The Cannonau grape is grown all over Sardinia, but especially in Ogliastra and precisely in Jerzu a village situated 500 m above sea level in the beautiful Ogliastra region.

Nebbiolo, 1965
Cantine Bava
The Nebbiolo has a lovely earthy bouquet. The nose has cherries, dark cherries, tar and slight dried rose notes. Complex and layered. Nice acidity. Medium tannins still present. Cherries on the palate too. Nice finish. Great food wine. Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Raboso, 1965
Deroa
Raboso is a red wine grape grown primarily in Eastern part of Veneto. It is often called Raboso Piave, from the name of the river where it has found a eletive zone of production. It produces deep-colored wine, with notably high levels of tannin no high alcohol content but above all it always gives very high acid contents. Raboso was in the past the most cultivated grape varieties in Eastern of Veneto, it was the perfect wine for the Venetian navigators aroud the world, indeed they called it vin de viajo wine of travel, because it was the most resistant to aging and transport. …

Spanna, 1965
Travaglini Giancarlo - Riserva
Spanna has often been cited by wine experts as one of Italy’s greatest ageing wines. Spanna’s longevity can be attributed, at least in part, to the addition of smaller amounts of less tannic, more acidic grape varieties. Tasting notes: The nose opens up beautifully after about an hour and the wine has gorgeous ripe and sweet fruit, nice acidity, and perfectly softened tannins.

1965 Taylors Single Harvest Port
Includes Taylor's presentation gift box
Taylors 1965 Very Old Single Harvest Port is presented in a classic Taylor’s frosted bottle, and packaged in a high quality beech-wood box.
During its five decades of ageing in oak casks, this wine has taken on an attractive pale mahogany colour with olive amber highlights. On the nose the wine displays fine oaky aromas and complex spicy, nutty, cigar box notes against a warm mellow background of butterscotch and molasses. The smooth velvety palate is lifted by a crisp acidity which gives the wine an attractive freshness in spite of its age. The finish is immensely long with rich, spicy, black pepper flavours lingering on the palate. …

Taylor Fladgate, 1965
Late Bottled Vintage Port
Late Bottled Vintage port is from a single year. The wine ages 4-6 years in old oak casks (opposed to Vintage that ages 2-3). LBV fills the gap between the rubies and the vintage ports since a Ruby Port should be drunk quite young and a great Vintage Port may need 15 to 20 years to really open up and show its splendour. This led to the idea in the 1960s to age the wine 4 to 6 years in large casks before bottling it.
