Review:
With a light amber colour, reveals a nose full of elegance and character, where the dried fruits are blended with the light sensations of chocolate and coffee. In the mouth it’s an attractive, velvety and involving wine. Presents an excellent acidity, good structure and an amazing finesse.

Quinta Das Carvalhas

50 Year Old Tawny Port
95 Points - Wine Enthusiast Special Offer | Was £295 | Now £225

This 50 Year Old Colhieta Port from Quinta das Carvalhas, was made with Port from the vast and rich collection of old Port wines found in the cellars in Nova de Gaia. The soul and body of this 50 year old is based on a tawny from 1967, a Porto Colheita from 1976 and a dash of Port from 1920, aged in oak casks. The result is a magnificent amber-coloured wine, which on the nose reveals notes of varnish and cedar leaves and an almost citrusy freshness. When tasted, it is broad and powerful, with flavours of dried fruits. It has a long and persistent finish.

Quinta das Carlvalhas have developed their own unique blend of sustainable, modern viticulture whilst preserving the historic century-old vines that go towards making their best wines.

50 Year Old Madeira

50 Year Old Henriques & Henriques Tinta Negra (Comes in Original H&H gift box as illustrated)

The first ever 50 Year Old Tinta Negra is absolutely stunning! This is the 1st time Tinta Negra has ever been seen this way and with ONLY 2,700 (50cl) bottles produced for the entire world market, it looks a pretty amazing offering

2015 saw Tinta Negra promoted to the status of ‘recommended grape’ and thus is now allowed to be mentioned on labels. In addition, a new 50 Year-Old category has been implemented; this is designed to bridge the gap between 15/20 Year-Old Colheitas and much older single-year Madeiras, and offers drinkers the opportunity to buy some properly old cask-aged Madeiras at prices considerably below those of the older vintage bottlings.

Barolo, 1974

Succ. A. Camerano

Barolo is known as the 'king of wines' and is made from the Nebbiolo grape. Heady aromas of rose, leather, vanilla, cherry, pepper, cranberry, strawberry. Fruits are perfectly knitted with the tannins and acidity. It's a powerful wine but remarkably subtle. Don't underestimate it and certainly serve it with food to show at it's best. Nebbiolo has naturally high tannins and acidity, so it will take on full-flavoured, rich foods no problem at all.
