Cesare in Stanzano di Castel San Pietro - Riserva

Red wine of great character and complexity, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards have an average age of 15 years and a yield of 75 quintals of grapes per hectare. Ferments in dedicated temperature-controlled fermenters with long constant maceration of the marc. It ages for 18 months in 550-liter Allier oak tonneaux and ages for a further 6 months in the bottle.

Cavit

Marzemino is a red Italian wine grape that is primarily grown around Isera, south of Trentino. The wine is most noted for its mention in the opera Don Giovanni of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ("Versa il vino! Eccellente Marzemino!"). The vine ripens late and is susceptible to many grape diseases including oidium. Wine produced from the grape has a characteristic dark tint and light plummy taste. Valtellina is one of Italy’s most dramatic wine regions, located in Lombardy, the vineyards are located on steep mountains. The principal grape variety is Chiavennasca (the local name for Piedmont’s Nebbiolo and an Italian grape varietal that has been cultivated since medieval times here). Refosco is a very old Italian family of dark-skinned grape varieties native to the northern Italian and neighbouring areas of Friuli, Gavi, Trentino,Istria, and Karst Plateau.It is considered autochthonous in these regions. Rosso Piceno is the largest DOC of the Marches region located in central Italy. It includes most of the hilly territory ideally suited to viticulture in the provinces of Ancona, Macerata and a limited area in Ascoli Piceno, but excludes the smaller zones of Rosso Conero and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba. The vineyards are situated on the upper hills at an altitude of up to 2296ft (700m).
