The 1975 Dows Vintage Port is from a vintage that has been long under-rated. I have had repeated tastings of the 75's and whilst not in the same class as the 66 or 70 vintages, nevertheless present an outstanding quality vs price buy. When you consider that recent releases retail around the £80-£90 mark and need 20 years of storage before drinking this represents a bargain. Decanted for 4 hours, the 1975 Dows is fully mature with a nice tawny colour. The recent bottles I have tasted have been very nicely developed and drinking perfectly now. The 1975 Graham's vintage port is a wine from an historic year for Portugal with a port declaration that came shortly after the 1974 revolution. With a lively bright appearance and deep aromatic nose of candied fruit, damson jam and sweet raisins, this port is a crowd pleaser. The 1975 vintage is massively underrated, languishing in the shadows of the great 1970 and 1977 vintages. The Ports produced are lighter in style than other declarations but represent tremendous value. The Taylor's 1975 Vintage Port is no exception. Our tastings over the past few years have shown this wine consitently has a good colour in the glass and a mature nose. It has good structure and backbone that is typical of Taylors. It is a touch spirity, with some gentle, stony, red fruits. On the palate there is an immediately apparent sweetness which persists through to the finish.

Beautiful pale tawny in colour. The 50-Year-Old Tawny is exceptionally pronounced and complex in aroma profile. Vintage Port

The 1970 Butler Nephew Vintage is a top quality vintage port produced before the company was purchased by Gonzalas Byas and entered into decline. The wine is dark (60% opaque), light nose of candy and vanilla. Very sweet with a full body and serious backbone. A mixture of black cherries, raisins, dates and licorice on the palate overlaid with a little lavender. The backbone does balances some of the sweetness which leads to a long, long finish. Barsac

A wonderful fruity dessert wine from the 1970 vintage that is still drinking well.

Château Liot is a 20-hectare property producing on average 5,500 cases per year. It is located in the south-west of the Barsac appellation and its vineyards border those of Château Climens. Liot's vineyards (Sémillon 85%, Sauvignon Blanc 10%, Muscadelle 5%) lie on a gravel/silt/alluvial topsoil and limestone subsoil.
The grapes are fermented in vats and the wine is then matured in oak barrels (15% new) for 15-18 months. Liot's wines are typically fresh and refined and display marvellous purity of fruit.
