Description

This aged Tawny Port from Messias has a characteristic bouquet of of dried fruits, spices and roasting, most evident in wines matured in the barrel. In the mouth, turns out to be a soft and harmonious wine, with a very persistent aroma and a good long finish.

The NV 30 Years Tawny Port was bottled in 2017 with 123 grams per liter of residual sugar and a bar-top cork. This is laced with a little brandy, but the overlay is mostly dried caramel. It is round and rather harmonious but still able to tighten on the finish after seeming a bit flat on opening. It does have a lively feel to it as it finishes, to go with its broad flavors. It is not the most focused 30-year Porto, but it coats the palate nicely. As always, these last indefinitely, barring cork failures. They are not really meant to be held, but they can be.
