Barbaresco wines are produced from the Nebbiolo grape, the king of the italian grape varities, in the Italian Piemonte region. This 1987 Barbaresco Gaja delivers a pronounced nose of rich aromas including dried cherries, herbs, cedar, and toasty oak. In the mouth it delivers a medium to full-bodied pallate, with considerable tannic clout. The long finish is dominated by the wine's tannins.
