Description
Symbol of the precise and elegant style of Champagne Henriot’s wines. Brut Souverain appeals with its nose of white flower and citrus fruit notes. A lively, fresh and balanced attack, with pastry, spice (vanilla) and fruity (morello cherry, candied plum) flavours. A clean and refreshing finish with great length and persistence.
Founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, the house is now among the most prestigious Champagnes with an ancestral know-how and unique expertise related to prior commissioning of chardonnay.

Blend of 29 crus. 48% Pinot Noir, 42% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. Base of 2016 with 38% reserve wines (less than usual because 2016 was such a rich year). Disgorged May 2022, dosage 5 g/l – reduced from 7–8 g/l and chef de cave Alice Tétienne reports that she will reduce it to 3.5 g/l for the next cuvée of Brut Souverain.
Deep gold. Really quite rich and broad but with a very dry finish. Generous and rewarding. Very good for an NV blend.
