Description

The 1967 Chateau Filhot may be the perfect after dinner wine. Deep amber gold. Lovely nose of grapey botrytis and caramel. Long and mature on the palate. Drink soon, but offers a lovely ending to the meal.

The Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot and is now owned and managed by one of his descendants: count Henri de Vaucelles.
The estate covers an area of 350 hectares with 62 hectares of vineyard all along the south of the Sauternes village in the Sauternes appellation.

Château Filhot is an esteemed Bordeaux wine estate located in the Sauternes appellation of the Bordeaux region in France. Similar to other Sauternes producers, Château Filhot is known for crafting sweet white wines, utilizing the Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grape varieties affected by noble rot.

The 1967 vintage is considered a good vintage for Bordeaux wines, and this includes sweet wines from Sauternes. Wines from this vintage are appreciated for their balanced sweetness and aging potential.
