Made by the owners of Terrey-Gros-Cailloux, the fine 1998 Hortevie exhibits a saturated, thick purple color, as well as unformed but impressive, ripe Cabernet aromas of cassis, fruit, and minerals with hints of spicy oak. The wine is medium-bodied, chewy, tannic, and well-balanced. It will be drinkable young because of its low acidity, but it will keep for 15+ years. An impressive cru bourgeois performance.
