Reviews
"Unquestionably the best wine produced in the Medoc in 1967, the Latour has dark ruby color with some browning at the edges, a medium- to full-bodied feel, plenty of black currant fruit, and some light, soft tannins still present. Head and shoulders above the other first-growths, this wine has the classic Latour bouquet of black walnuts, black currants, mineral scents, and cedarwood. " Robert Parker Bordeaux 3rd Ed.

I had high hopes of this wine that Parker describes as possibly the best of the vintage: and he was right. A deep garnet colour with a youthful, slightly auburn rim. The nose impresses the most: not complex but very well-defined, fresh, dominated by cedar and a touch of pencil-lead. The palate is foursquare, showing great definition at the beginning with fresh acidity and unbelievable youth, redolent of a 10 year old wine. Does not have the complexity of a usual Latour and is short on the finish, but the wine is well-balanced and a joy to drink. Certainly better than Haut-Brion 1967." Neil Martin Wine Journal

"The Latour ’66 remains one of the great wines of the vintage. This bottle has a lovely, fresh bouquet that continues to scream “Pauillac” at the top of its voice. Pencil lead, cedar, dark berried fruits, a touch of tar with exceptional definition and focus. The palate is very well balanced with stern, rigid tannins, very foursquare but excellent depth and penetration. There is a saline tang lingering on the grippy, stout, conservative but citrus fresh finish. Excellent and upstanding. Tasted December 2010." Neil Martin Wine Journal
