Description
**90 Points e-Parker.com**
Situated on clay and limestone soils above the better known Pavie-Decesse, this 37.5-acre vineyard is planted with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Farmed bio-dynamically, with low yields, this has been a perennial winner over the last 12-15 years, with the 1998 and 2000 standing out as monumental efforts. The inky purple-colored 2002 is unevolved and primary, but it exhibits impressive purity and intensity as well as high levels of tannin. In this case, the latter component is not dry or astringent. There is an admirable mid-section, a distinctive liquid minerality, and a closed but promising/persistent after-taste. However, this is a wine for connoisseurs with ideal cellaring conditions as 5-7 years of aging is warranted before consumption.
