  • Description

From the good 1978 vintage, this wine still has a quite dark colour with a moderate amount of age showing
around the rim. The bouquet is a little earthy at first but reveals some complexity. The taste is much better than the bouquet reavealing some typical cassis fruit and medium length finish.

Château d'Issan stands as a historic wine estate located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France. With a legacy spanning over 800 years, the estate has garnered recognition for producing exceptional red wines. Encompassing around 44 hectares, the vineyard benefits from a diverse terroir of gravelly and sandy soils, ideal for nurturing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. Château d'Issan's wines are celebrated for their elegance, finesse, and aging potential, displaying ripe fruit flavors, refined tannins, and a distinct Margaux character. Classified as a Third Growth (Troisième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, the estate continues to maintain its tradition of excellence under the ownership of the Cruse family. With a commitment to sustainable viticulture and meticulous winemaking practices, Château d'Issan remains a pillar of the Margaux appellation, crafting wines that embody the finest qualities of the region.
