Description
The 1988 Belle Epoque Rose is a Brown salmon colour. Nose with leather, orange peel, brown apples, vanilla, licorice and rust. Masculine appearance on the palate, with very forward, fat, mature apples, caramel, brown sugar and rye bread, very balanced by fine acidity.
The origins of Perrier-Jouet lie in a passionate meeting between Pierre Nicolas Perrier, whose family had worked in vineyards since the 18th century, and Adele Jouet, the daughter of a wine merchant. The couple created the House of Perrier-Jouet and, 3 years later, moved to premises on the avenue de Champagne in Epernay, which has since been nicknamed “the Champs-Elysees of Champagne”. Perrier-Jouet was an instant success and quickly found its way on to royal dining tables. The House became the official supplier to the English court in 1861, and the courts of Sweden and of Leopold 1st, King of Belgium, soon followed suit.
