The Pautre estate is in Ligorelle, on the Northwestern edge of the appellation. The vines are 30 to 40 years old, and located on a calciferous plateau, beside a forest, facing south. This truly is the best area for the Petit Chablis Appellation. Monsieur Pautre is passionate about quality, and his wine is the traditional ”profile” of what a great Chablis should taste like. Good acidity, citrus aroma, structure, mass, flintiness. And it beats several regular Chablis’. He does not own a bottling line, and the wine is moved to the village of Prehy where it is bottled, by his partner. 100% Chardonnay.
