Quinta Das Carvalhas 2015 Vintage Port is made from a small parcel of vines over 100 years old. It has a complex nectar, born in an exceptional year and from 100-year-old vineyards harvested in an exceptional year, with powerful, very complex and concentrated red wines. According to a tasting note of the producer, "the intense purple colour of this Quinta das Carvalhas Vintage Port 2015 reveals that we are dealing with a young wine. On the nose it denotes a bouquet of ripe fruit combined with floral nuances and rockrose. On the palate it is firm and mineral, with great definition. At the same time, it is elegant and rich in soft tannins, with a long and persistent finish".

Quinta das Carvalhas is one of the most emblematic and spectacular properties in the Douro valley. Written references regarding this magnificent vineyard can be traced back to 1759. Enjoying a prominent position on the left bank of the Douro river, in Pinhão, the estate covers the entire hillside facing the Douro river and occupies part of the slopes of the right bank of the tributary Torto river. Carvalhas’ old vines, are a post-phylloxera plantation, which have reached the respectful age of a century old and represent one of the richest selection of ancient indigenous Douro varieties.
