Dow Vintage Port, 2003
Vintage Port
Description: *** 96 Points (Wine Journal) *** "The complex aromatics of the opaque, black-colored 2003 Dow Vintage Port display chocolate, dried oak, black cherries, blackberries, copious spices, and a myriad flowers. This fresh, backward wine offers a medium to full-bodied, deeply concentrated core of spice-laced dark fruits. Softly-textured and seductive in the mid-palate, it boasts abundant layers of candied Damson plums, blueberries, black cherries, molasses, and hints of chocolate before revealing its firm structure. Extremely youthful and primary, this exceptional effort demands patience. Projected maturity: 2025-2045+." Rovani, Wine Advocate "A magnificent Dow. A deep opaque purple/black colour. Very youthful in appearance. The nose is very pure and as primal as its appearance: blackberry, liquorice, black olive and an engaging sense of minerality. But it is very tight and unwilling to express itself at this stage. The palate is very well balanced with ripe blackberry, olive and spice flavours on the entry, good acidity and focus with a fine tannic structure towards the finish. Leaves the most fresh and vibrant. More depth than the Croft, this is a superb Dow. Drink 2020-2050+ Tasted May 2009." Neil Martin Wine Journal

Dow Vintage Port, 1999
Quinta Senhora da Ribeira Vintage Port
Description: "Dow’s quinta wine has traditionally come from Bomfim, near Pinhão. This is the second release from their Douro Superior quinta across the river from Vesuvio – and it is a Knockout. When first poured, the aroma seems grapey and unformed. But give it plenty of time, perhaps a day in a decanter, for the power and impact of the wine to show. It grows into a gentle giant, with the potency of oregano, as though of esteva on steroids, hard to get all of it into the mouth or the brain at once. The wine is gripping, both voluptuous and tight, tasting like an old field blend of the varied Douro vines, wild as crushed berries and herbs. Cellar it to see what it may become – perhaps the wine of the vintage." Joshua Greene , Wine & Spirits 2002

Dow Vintage Port, 1985
Vintage Port
Description: "Drinking beautifully now at early optimal maturity, this has at least another few years of development in front of it and many years of drinking pleasure after that. Now it is nicely developed, well integrated, juicy and ripe with a nice balance between its power, weight, and texture; it is succulent but still elegant. Delicious. Really excellent." Dow Vintage Port, 1963
Vintage Port
Description: New stock please allow up 7 working days for delivery. "A beautiful rich nose of roasted coffee beans, cherry liqueur and Asian spice. The palate is smooth, hedonistic and loaded with sweet red fruits such as strawberries and raspberries. There is a saturated quality to this Dow, a sense of completeness that I love. An opulent chocolaty finish - very long and attractive. Perhaps not as “structured” as I expected but this Dow is drinking beautifully and will surely last a number of years. Drink now-2020." Tasted July 2003. Neil Martin, Wine Journal Rating 94-95 (outstanding)
