This classic Tawny Port from Burmester has a vivid golden-brown colour. The aromas of ripe fruit are abundant on the nose, with appealing notes of vanilla. On the palate it is delightfully fresh with a marked fruity character. Velvety, round and remarkably engaging.

Winemaking:
Hand-picked at the optimum time, the grapes are then destemmed, crushed and converted into wine through a process of careful maceration to extract their colour, tannins and aromas, enhanced by constant churning during fermentation. Palmer Port, Non Vintage

Palmer Cask 150
150 Year Old Tawny Port

What happened 150 years ago? It was the time of Romanticism and the invention of dynamite; of the visionary novels of Jules Verne and of the first telegraphic connection between Portugal and England; but also of the appearance of phylloxera in Europe. While all this was happening, a port wine was ageing calmly in the cellars of the Douro.

Palmer Cask 150 is the survivor of a time of change, invention and plagues. His real story is printed in gold on the glass of the bottle, in direct contact with the wine. While its label tells the story known by all, the one of its time, it also conceals part of that memory.
