Framingham, 2022
Framingham Noble Riesling, Marlborough, New Zealand
Sweet white wine
Framingham Noble Riesling is a sweet, botrytis affected wine inspiredby the classic German “Beerenauslese” style. Botrytis is a fungus that concentrates sugars in the fruit by dehydration and imparts distinctive flavours. The wine is deeply concentrated, yet elegant and not cloying as a result of its vibrant acidity and naturally low alcohol
Bright, brassy gold in colour. Complex aromatics showing significant, but not complete, botrytis influence. Nice mix of stone fruit, honey and pithy marmalade-like citrus, with hints of “gin and tonic”. The palate is tight, but has richness and viscosity. …

Mount Horrocks, 2022
Mount Horrocks 'Cordon Cut' Clare Valley Riesling, South Australia
The Mount Horrocks Cordon Cut Vineyard is located at Auburn, close to the Mount Horrocks Cellar Door (formerly the Auburn Railway Station) and is planted to riesling. At an elevation of 340 metres it is a warmer site and ideal for producing this richer, more concentrated style of wine. 'Cordon Cut' refers to a complex, highly risky process requiring both skill and experience, which involves cutting the vine canes when the grapes are ripe, allowing the remaining fruit to concentrate and raisin naturally on the vine. This results in intense flavour and richness. The decision to pick is made by Stephanie, and is based on the appearance and taste of the fruit, and her intimate knowledge of the process. …

Donnafugata, 2020
Donnafugata, `Kabir` Moscato di Pantelleria, Sicilly

They were one of the first families to begin making high-quality table wine when sales of traditional Marsala started to decline, launching the Donnafugata label in 1983 and championing the potential of the region’s native varieties.
Today, Donnafugata has four estates in Sicily: a modern winery and 283 hectares at Contessa Entellina in the hills east of Marsala, 36 hectares in Vittoria towards the south-eastern point of the island, 68 hectares on the island of Pantelleria, and 18 hectares on the slopes of Etna. …

Chateau Suduiraut, 2010
1er Cru Sauternes
Sweet White Wine
Half Bottle Format, 37.5cl
There is honey and quite exotic apricot and mango on the nose, more delicate floral notes flit in and out, as well as the light earthy character of Botrytis. Beautiful fruit and texture on the palate, mouth-filling and glycerine-rich, but that orange and tangerine character of the acidity, that persistent touch of leafiness, gives this real freshness even although the concentration and Botrytis character persists in the long finish. Chateau d'Yquem, 1999
Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
Half Bottles (37.5cl)
Yquem is without doubt, one of the world's finest sweet wine producers, of whom Robert Parker comments: "There is no other wine in the world like it, and there is no other luxury wine that can possibly justify its price as much as Yquem. The remarkable amount of painstaking labor necessary to produce the nectar known as Yquem is almost impossible to comprehend."
Reviews: A golden, straw hue. The nose is predictable and linear compared to the other Yquem's that I have tasted. White flowers, acacia, rather like a sweet Auslese! The palate is lively, rich, moderate acidity.
