Château Guiraud 2015 – Sauternes, 1er Cru Classé

The 2015 Château Guiraud is a beautifully expressive and finely balanced Sauternes, combining richness with freshness in a style that is both luxurious and precise. The colour is a bright, glowing gold, already showing wonderful clarity and appeal.

The nose is vibrant and aromatic, offering notes of apricot, peach, pineapple and mango, layered with acacia honey, orange blossom and candied citrus peel. Subtle hints of saffron, vanilla and toasted almond add complexity and elegance.

On the palate, the wine is rich and silky yet remarkably fresh. Luscious flavours of honeyed stone fruit, citrus zest and tropical fruit are supported by a lively acidity that keeps the wine poised and energetic. The texture is smooth and refined rather than heavy, with excellent purity of fruit.

The finish is long, clean and beautifully persistent, leaving lingering impressions of honey, citrus, gentle spice and floral notes. This is a Sauternes that combines generosity with finesse.

This Guiraud pairs wonderfully with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit tarts, apricot desserts and crème brûlée. It is also delicious simply on its own as a contemplative after-dinner wine.

An elegant, vibrant and beautifully balanced Sauternes with excellent ageing potential. The 2015 Château Guiraud offers immediate charm while promising to develop further complexity with time in bottle.
