Ramos Pinto, 2017
Single Bottle Includes presentation box as shown
*** 17/20 Jancis Robinson ***
Deep and opaque purple centre with a narrow scarlet outer rim. A complex and mature bouquet dominated by black fruit, cherry plum and blackcurrant which surround notes of chocolate and liquorice. Delicate aromas of violets and touches of bergamot.
On the palate this is a powerful win, with density and great volume. Silky tannins are well integrated with the highly concentrated fruit. A fresh and almost never ending finish.
Jorge Rosas, CEO of Ramos Pinto, has said 2017 is “an exceptional year – the 2017s are without a doubt up there with our best vintages. …

Ramos Pinto, 2015
Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 1 x 75cl, Single bottle
In original gift box
The 2015 Vintage Port Wine from Ramos Pinto has been described as, "A wine with attractive aromas, fruit and rockrose, a good body with a long peppery finish. A Vintage which will age for many years." (Ana Rosas, Master Blender)
2015 was an excellent year in the Douro, with a very dry growing season and lower than average rainfall. A dry winter was followed by an atypically warm spring, allowing grapes to ripen fully in time for harvest in late August.
The Vintage is made from a blend of grapes from old vines grown in the Quinta de Ervamoira (Douro Superior) and Quinta do Bom Retiro (Cima Corgo). …

Late Bottled Vintage Port with wine glass
The 2015 Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Port is unfiltered and comes from one single year and one single harvest. Whereas its richer cousin, the Vintage, is bottled in the second year, this wine is bottled in the fourth year. Smoother than the Vintage, more developed and easier to drink. It is a powerful, defiant, full-bodied and harmonious wine. It is a wine familiar with the flavours of chocolate and cheese. After the bottle is opened it remains at its best for a further 15 to 30 days, if properly stored. It is a wine that is not filtered and can therefore either be drunk immediately or be left forgotten in a cellar, developing further complexity. …

Ramos Pinto, 2011
Vintage Port (MAGNUM) in original wooden case.
This 2011 Vintage Port Wine from Ramos Pinto is deep purple in colour, typical of a young classic Vintage. Elegant and fragrant aroma, a denoted fresh and fruity nose of raspberry and ripened plum, with a touch of resin and mint. In the mouth, it is soft yet full-bodied, a solid structure of polished tannins supports the ripe red fruit, a touch of mineral and freshness, notes of mint and dark chocolate. Power and very tasty end. A classic Vintage.

Ramos Pinto, 1997
A glass at Ramos Pinto, this was initially a little closed, particularly compared to the 1982 vintage alongside it. After some patient swirling prune and dried raspberry fruit emerges, with spice and tobacco. The palate is very smooth; sweet and chocolatey in the house style. It also has something rather savoury and mineral about it, with plenty of tannin. The overall feel is still quite young, just entering its drinking window, with a lot to recommend it as a port for the future. DF Review for Vivino, 2020

Ramos Pinto, 1945
Reviews and tasting notes for the 1945 Ramos Pinto Vintage Port
"Reddish-brown in colour, mature in appearance; 50% opaque. Nice on the nose, fresh and with acidic rhubarb tones. Empty entry despite the texture, but some attractive burnt toffee and marmalade on the mid palate. A nice balancing acidity on the palate but this does burn slightly on the aftertaste. The finish is slightly burnt, but with very pleasant mature fruit; a touch short compared to the other ports shown alongside but a large volume and mouthfilling. 91/100." AHB The Port Forum

Ramos Pinto, 1937
Roasted nuts, walnuts, cashews, caramel, citrus from the acidity and even a bit of pineapple. Lusciously sweet with a very long finish.
This single harvest port from the 1937 vintage was stored in barrels until bottling in 1973.
