  • Description

The 2015 Château Doisy-Daëne is a wonderfully vibrant and expressive Barsac, capturing the generosity of the vintage while maintaining the estate’s hallmark finesse and purity. The nose is beautifully lifted, with aromas of apricot, peach, candied citrus and pineapple, layered with honeysuckle, acacia honey and a touch of vanilla. It is bright, aromatic and immediately inviting.

On the palate, the wine combines richness with superb freshness. Ripe stone-fruit flavours—apricot, nectarine and lemon curd—are supported by a lively spine of acidity that gives the wine tension and clarity. Barsac’s distinctive minerality provides lift and definition, allowing the sweetness to feel silky rather than heavy.

As the wine opens, deeper nuances appear: saffron, ginger, almond cream and warm pastry add complexity and texture. The balance is excellent, with the sweetness beautifully integrated into the wine’s delicate structure. The finish is long, pure and gently honeyed, leaving a lingering impression of citrus and floral spice.

An excellent Doisy-Daëne, the 2015 vintage combines approachability with serious ageing potential. Already delicious, it will continue to evolve gracefully over the next decade or more. Ideal with blue cheeses, fruit-based desserts, foie gras, or enjoyed on its own as a refined and luxurious sweet wine.

Château Doisy-Daëne stands as an esteemed wine estate nestled in the Barsac appellation of Bordeaux, France, renowned for crafting exquisite sweet wines. With a history tracing back to the 19th century, this estate, classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, boasts a prime location and a terroir characterized by clay and limestone soils conducive to the development of noble rot. The vineyard spans approximately 18 hectares, predominantly planted with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle. Guided by generations of expertise and a commitment to tradition, Château Doisy-Daëne meticulously hand-harvests botrytized grapes to create its signature elixirs. These wines are celebrated for their opulent sweetness, balanced by vibrant acidity, and complex layers of flavor, including honey, apricot, and citrus. Château Doisy-Daëne exemplifies the pinnacle of Barsac's winemaking heritage, consistently producing wines of exceptional quality and distinction.
