Tasting Notes:
A radiant golden colour with brilliant highlights. The bouquet is intense and layered, offering aromas of honey, candied citrus peel, apricot, tropical fruits and notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate, luscious flavours of marmalade, peach, pineapple and acacia honey are lifted by Barsac’s hallmark minerality and freshness. The texture is silky and concentrated, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of citrus and spice.
Serving Tips & Storage
Serve lightly chilled (10–12°C) in medium-sized white wine glasses to allow the aromatics to unfold. Château Climens pairs beautifully with foie gras, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, fruit tarts, crème brûlée or simply enjoyed on its own as a luxurious digestif. Store bottles lying on their side in a cool, dark cellar with stable temperature and humidity. Properly cellared, this 2003 can continue to evolve gracefully for decades.
Château Climens, classified as a Premier Cru Classé in 1855, is located in Barsac at the heart of the Sauternes region. The estate is dedicated entirely to Sémillon, producing wines renowned for their purity, elegance and ability to age. With a history dating back to the 16th century, Climens has consistently upheld a reputation for excellence, crafting some of the world’s most admired sweet wines that reflect both terroir and tradition.
