Description

The Barbaresco DOC 1971 “Rabajà Riserva” Produttori del Barbaresco is an exceptionally rare and historic Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont, Italy. Produced by Produttori del Barbaresco, this Riserva comes from the Rabajà cru, one of the most prestigious vineyards in Barbaresco, known for its balance of power, elegance, and aromatic complexity.

This vintage represents the early Riserva bottlings from the cooperative, showcasing the quality and ageing potential of carefully selected parcels of Nebbiolo.

Tasting Notes:

The 1971 Rabajà Riserva is now fully mature and deeply tertiary. The nose reveals aromas of dried rose petals, cherry preserve, leather, tobacco, forest floor, truffle, and earthy spices, with hints of balsamic, cedar, and dried herbs developing with time in the glass.

On the palate it is elegant, refined, and well-evolved, with softened tannins and integrated acidity providing structure. The fruit has evolved into dried and savory notes, complemented by layers of earthy, truffle, and mineral complexity. The finish is long, graceful, and lingering, typical of a mature Barbaresco from a great vineyard like Rabajà.

Serving & Food Pairing:

Best served at 18°C. Handle with care due to age; gentle pouring is recommended to avoid disturbing sediment.

Ideal pairings include:

braised beef or veal
roasted game
mushroom risotto
truffle dishes
aged hard cheeses
