    A Classic Expression from Cannubi
The 2019 Gigi Rosso Barolo Cannubi offers an elegant, authentic expression of one of Barolo’s most celebrated vineyards. Cannubi is often referred to as the “grand cru” of Barolo, known for producing wines that seamlessly balance structure and finesse. Gigi Rosso’s approach emphasizes careful vineyard work and traditional aging, resulting in a wine that truly embodies the spirit of this historic site.

    An Outstanding Vintage for Barolo
The 2019 vintage is already considered excellent in Barolo, with ideal conditions allowing for a long, slow ripening period. This produced wines of great aromatic complexity, bright acidity, and refined tannic structure. Many critics have compared 2019 to other standout years for its classical style and exceptional cellaring potential.

    Aromatic Depth and Refined Palate
On the nose, this Barolo reveals layers of rose petals, violets, and fresh red cherries, interwoven with subtle notes of licorice, sweet spice, and earthy undertones. The palate is full-bodied yet beautifully balanced, with fine, silky tannins and a lively acidity supporting generous fruit and mineral-driven depth. The finish is long and elegant, showcasing Cannubi’s trademark combination of power and grace.

    Serving and Pairing Recommendations
This wine can be enjoyed after extended decanting but will reward patience in the cellar, developing further nuance over the next 10–20 years. It pairs perfectly with rich Piedmontese dishes such as truffle pasta, braised meats, and mature cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano. Serve at around 18 °C to fully appreciate its complexity and aromatic profile.

    A Collectible and Age-Worthy Barolo
For collectors and Barolo enthusiasts, the 2019 Gigi Rosso Barolo Cannubi is an outstanding addition to any cellar. It offers an exceptional representation of Cannubi’s historic terroir and Gigi Rosso’s elegant, classical style. Whether enjoyed on a special occasion or aged for future milestones, this wine promises a memorable and rewarding experience.

Gigi Rosso winery sits in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Barolo land. It carries the name of its founder Gigi, one of Barolo’s and Langhe pioneers. The next generation, Maurizio and his son Andreas are now managing Gigi Rosso winery. The passage to the second and third generation brings energy and new ideas to the business. As Gigi expressed in his own words: “I was born in the vineyards. I grew up in the vineyards. And the vineyards are my heart and soul. The Langhe are my home. This land gave me a very precious gift. As a thank you, every year, I harvest its fruits and look after them like a mother looks after her babies. They call me enologist, they say I’m a wine expert, they refer to me as a pioneer. But there’s only one truth: when nature speaks I listen. My land tells a unique story and I’m always listening”.
