  • Description

A single-harvest fortified wine Blandy’s 2010 Bual Colheita Madeira offers an elegant and harmonious balance of richness and acidity. This medium-rich Madeira, made from 100% Bual grapes harvested in 2010, was aged for over a decade in seasoned American oak casks using the traditional Canteiro method.

    Tasting Notes:
Clear amber hue with golden nuances. The nose is expressive, featuring aromas of dried fruits, spices, vanilla, and hints of dried leaf infusions. On the palate, it is smooth and dense, with initial sweetness balanced by freshness, leading to a long finish of dried fruits and subtle spice.

    Serving Suggestions:
It is recommended to pull the cork at least 2 day before enjoying this wine. Decanting will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. This versatile Madeira pairs wonderfully with savoury dishes like pâtés and curries, as well as desserts such as caramelised oranges, fruitcake, and apple tarte tatin. Once opened, a Madeira wine should keep for many months without deteriorating.

    Cellarage
This wine should be stored upright in a dark room with constant temperature, ideally no higher than 16ºC.

Blandy's Madeira has been synonymous with quality Madeira wine for over 200 years. The Blandy's are unique in being the only family of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade to still own and manage their own original wine company. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live on Madeira, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.

Wine Enthusiast: 93 points – "A medium-sweet Madeira, this is a beautifully textured wine. Its vibrant character is matched by the light wood and spice flavors that fill it out. It has great concentration and should be aged further. Drink from 2025, but it will certainly last longer."

Decanter: 95 points – "Medium-rich in style (92 g/l residual sugar), the grapes for this wine originate from Calheta on the warmer south coast of Madeira. Mid-amber hue with gently smoked, yet rich savoury-spicy aromas – quite seductive and evocative. Lovely Elvas plum and quince marmalade richness with a spicy backdrop, balanced by fresh appley acidity. The long finish is akin to a gently cinnamon-spiced tarte tatin. Shows great complexity for a colheita.
