  • Description

The Casa Burmester Touriga Nacional showcases the depth and complexity of the Touriga Nacional grape, which is often used in premium Portuguese blends but also stands strong on its own.

    Tasting Notes
With a deep, vibrant ruby colour, it features fine floral notes enveloped by ripe plums and black berry fruit. Superb and sophisticated, marked by remarkable volume on the palate. The tannins show up fine and polished, with well-defined berry flavours of the noble Touriga Nacional with additional layers of spice . The finish is long and persistent.

    Serving and Food Pairing
Serve at 16-18 Celsius. This wine pairs well with hearty dishes like grilled meats, lamb, or rich stews. Also goes well with strong aged cheeses.

Burmester is one of the oldest and most respected Port houses in Portugal, founded in 1750 by Henry Burmester and John Nash in the city of Porto. Known for its traditional methods, Burmester produces a wide range of Ports, including Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage (LBV), Tawny, and White Ports. In addition to Ports, Burmester also creates still wines, particularly in the Douro DOC, with whites and reds gaining recognition for their quality.

    90 Points - Roger Voss
The wine's structure and balance are exemplary. That gives space to the black currant fruits, the wine's perfumes and the core of dense tannins that need to age further. The wine should be ready from 2024. 90 pts-- Roger Voss- Wine Enthusiast. Tasted Oct 2022.
