Description
The Burmester Helmsman Reserve White Port is a beautifully crafted aged white Port that showcases the elegance and depth of this often-overlooked style. Created from traditional white grape varieties grown in the Douro Valley, this Reserve White Port is aged for several years in oak casks, giving it both richness and complexity while maintaining freshness and poise.
Golden amber in colour, the nose opens with fragrant notes of honey, dried apricot, toasted almonds, and orange blossom. Subtle hints of vanilla and spice from the wood ageing add warmth and sophistication, offering a lovely contrast to its citrusy lift.
On the palate, it is smooth and rounded with a fine balance between sweetness and acidity. Flavours of baked apple, caramel, and candied citrus peel glide across the tongue, finishing with a clean, nutty edge. The extra ageing brings a gentle depth not often found in younger white Ports.
